A woman in Barrie, Canada is considering legal action against her child's school after claims of sexual abuse were made to the Children's Aid Society. The student's "educational assistant" went to a psychic who told her that 'somebody with a name starting with the letter "v" was being sexually abused by a 23-26 year old man. From the National Post:

Shortly after arriving home, Ms. Leduc received a phone call from Victoria's teacher.

"The teacher said you have to come back to school right away -- it's urgent. My heart was racing," said Ms. Leduc, who went back to the school and met with the teacher, vice-principal and principal.

"The teacher looked at me and said: 'We have to tell you something. We have to tell you that Victoria's EA went to see a psychic and the psychic asked her if she works with a little girl with the initial V. When the EA said yes, the psychic said, 'Well, you need to know that this girl is being sexually abused by a man between the ages of 23 and 26.'"

The school officials then gave Ms. Leduc a list of behaviours that Victoria was exhibiting.

"You must remember that Victoria has severe autism and is entering puberty so she is exhibiting behaviours that are very common with children of this age but, being autistic and not having been taught otherwise, she will exhibit these behaviours in public," Ms. Leduc said.

The list included putting her hands down her pants, spitting, seeking to sit on cold objects and gyrating against staff members.

"The principal looks at me and says, 'We've called CAS.' Then I got sick to my stomach.

"I challenged them and asked if the other children in the class with autism exhibited these behaviours. They said, 'Oh yes, all the time.' But they were not reported to the CAS because they didn't have the psychic's tip."

This is some stupid s#!+. Nobody should ever consider the vague ramblings of a psychic to be evidence in a criminal case. This could have ended a lot worse, and I'm glad to say that as soon as the CAS got involved, the investigation was ended.

Remember: Psychic's don't need your gas money.

Does Dunkin’ Donuts really think its customers could mistake Rachael Ray for a terrorist sympathizer? The Canton-based company has abruptly canceled an ad in which the domestic diva wears a scarf that looks like a keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men.

Some observers, including ultra-conservative Fox News commentator Michelle Malkin, were so incensed by the ad that there was even talk of a Dunkin’ Donuts boycott.

‘‘The keffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad,’’ Malkin yowls in her syndicated column.

Dunkin' Donuts had this to say:

 ‘‘In a recent online ad, Rachael Ray is wearing a black-and-white silk scarf with a paisley design. It was selected by her stylist for the advertising shoot. Absolutely no symbolism was intended. However, given the possibility of misperception, we are no longer using the commercial.’’

I'd say that's in very poor taste for both Dunkin' Donuts and Malkin. I'll never buy a donut from either of them in the future. To pull an ad because there is a black and white scarf that kinda looks like a keffiyeh, which is simply a hat, is lunacy and it tells me we have some very ignorant people with way too much time and money on their hands. I hope you both go broke.
